K-1 Fiancee Visa To U.s. Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im sorry if this has been asked before but i searched the forum and coudnt find an answer. Im getting ready to file my petition(i hope)to try to bring my Thai fiancee to the U.S. The paperwork is pretty straight forward enough, and ive got numerous stuff to show that weve known each other for over a year. Our relationship is on the up and up, she went to college for 2 years and is now an english teacher. We are both single and have never been married . My concern lies with something i read that stated the petition cannot be filed outside the U.S.?

Ive been living with her in Thailand for 3 months now, so if this is true it might present a problem. Im also concerned with the affidavit for support, as im not currently employed(not for any company anyway). On a side note, i do have lots of family who are willing to provide financial support for the time being.

Do i have to actually be in the U.S. to apply for this visa?

Can my family members fulfill the financial requirements?

I know each case is different from the next, and any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
