Aust Network On 3 Satellites Now

Featured Replies

As Australia is located on the opposite side of the equator, there are no direct satellites signals available in Thailand on the high band like they use in Australia. However the ABC runs the Australia Network 24 hours a day on the low band so it is not effected by the rain now on 3 different satellites.

There are no other direct satellite signals at this time available to us in Thailand.

You can now choose the satellite to watch this channel

IS8 & IS5 BBC World, MTV ++

IS 7/10 Need card for 3 channels

& IS8 (Orignal)

Source, JSAT Aus pack

Anyone know if the first 2 sats are also low in the east? rolleyes.gif

Is Phrae too far north to get a signal?? Also, any advice on who would be the best dish supplier would be appreciated!

lots of information and relative links here

the "look angle" elevation is very low so may well be a problem...less than 16 degrees...dish size required is 3m also

All three satellite can be seen across Thailand, however the IS8 and IS5 service is right on our eastern horizon, so most people use the IS 7/10 service as it more or less over our heads.

So Jsat, these 3 channels you talk about, on 7 /10 right over our heads, is one of these the normal Aust network?

What are the 3 channels?

Also, do you have any latest gossip on a Fox takeover and bring sport back. What will be left at the end of AFL season, just some mighty awesome V8's only.

The ABC and Sky are the main contenders to take over.

the only three channels I get are the Australian network, BBC Asia-pacific and MTV china. The rest aren't worth worrying about.

I am on IS8.

The three channels are of course all the Australia Network. But time shifted for the zones they are playing to.

Re the Sports issues, talk to Kevin Rudd the FM of Australia, as he wrote the tender document for this round of tenders on who will run the Australian Network. They should let us know (us being the general public) as we understand the 8th of June was the release date, but we have heard nothing since.

Thanks for your input on this.

So basically, you don't need line of sight to low levels in the East any more, you can aim overheat to IS 7/10.

This is a step FWD at least.rolleyes.gif

That sounds like the old days, where the tapes were shipped across the country.

The programmes seen on the west coast, had been broadcast on the east coast the week before......... :cheesy:
