If the Dem's were smart they would have positioned themselves in that space while they were in power, they had plenty of time and opportunity to do so, but they didn't, and thus abdicated their right to govern.

The Democrats had no chance at all to position themselves. They came to power at the end of 2008 and with in less than 4 months the red shirts were out causing trouble.

After the Songkran 2009 protests, the red shirt propaganda was out in force. "The army were taking dead bodies away in trucks".
