Fiesta Sedan Or Honda City?

Featured Replies

There's been a lot of talk on this forum about the superiority of the Ford Fiesta over the Honda Jazz but these hatchbacks look a bit girly for me. I suppose they're great if you're buying one for your wife but I'm buying for myself. The Ford Fiesta sedan and the Honda City are more respectable for a man to drive. I suppose the Toyota Vios is also a competitor. What are your thoughts on the best of these subcompact sedans available in Thailand?

This should be hilarious. I think you said it all with "Girly".Me, well i grab a City every time..Why ?, i don't feel closed in,and its nippy.

Vios isnt a viable option if you consider yourself a ma. If you don't mind having no safety the city is a pretty good cheap car.. So much space.

Depends on your priotities

low end less than 600k baht, I would go City due to its 120hp engine and 5 speed auto

or vios due to its toyota aftermarket

700k I would go Fiesta, due to its engine and 6 speed dsg auto, electronic stability, handling, leather seats and general higher spec

Personally I don't like the look of the Fiesta Sedan, so if I had to choose between the two I would wait (and I WOULD wait...a long time) for a City.

However I don't consider the Fiesta Hatchback a girlie car at all.

Mine is BLACK with BLACK windows, maybe if I had chosen a pink Honda Jazz, people may have raised thier eybrows

Id sooner have a Pink Honda Jazz.:D

Hmmm...well different strokes for different folks

If you are well over six foot, these cars are a problem, i can get in the Brio, i think its Brillo. City is for me,you sure don't feel hemmed in, i used one last night, tiny tints, great dipped lights, good stopping in the terrible rain, easy to park,.In fact everything you need once the Novelty has wares off a new ride, she recons it does 17 mpl, and 190 in gear 5.I will take her word on the speed thanks!!.Feasible, looking at the Revs in gear 5.All for less than 6K,as KBB says.My Son had a Re Chipped one 4 years ago, that was a fierce Show Girl, all Skirts, Wheels and purple glow..

small cars like this, I consider the hatches the masculine ones, and the sedans for housewives and men with hat ;)

but fact remains, these sedans/saloon cars have longer wheelbase, larger rearseat and larger trunk than their hatch siblings, and lower price/higher spec. these saloons are great value for money

even tho the hatches IMHO look muuuch better :D

Or, find an extra 100-200K and buy a base model Civic, Alris, 3, Lancer EX or Cruze? Then no-one will question your manliness :P

It's tempting (the Civic and Altis anyway) but you really can't beat the City for a good value, good looking and spacious car for driving around Bangkok. Shame about the long waiting list.

Honda Phuket told me City is not presently manufactored, and waiting for facelift to be delivered September-October. Expect facelift like Jazz (front and rear plastics), possibly ad new lights, and all will have 2 x airbags. Price increases 10-30k baht, 30k for the models today not having airbags

We have just got the Facelift Accord, all i know its White, from Ubon Rat Honda.Im sure getting the new City, just for home shopper, hope they still do a Manual.Im tolds its new year though.

Acord Facelift turned up today, not much difference, seat stitching very nice. Her Ladyship say the handlings tighter. I might even get a chance to drive it one day. .The Facelift City is shown on India Honda website..,reduced in price to bash the oposition. Not that this lot could figure that out.

im planning one for the missus.. and its going to be the fiesta.

Generally better specs and one fun to drive car !
