BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet available in Thailand from 22 July

Research In Motion (RIM) announced that the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet will be available in Thailand on 22 July 2011 from AIS, TrueMove as well as a number of nationwide retail stores including Jay Mart and TG Fone.

The BlackBerry PlayBook will come in three Wi-Fi® models, featuring 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of memory storage, priced at Bt16,990, Bt18,990, and Bt21,990 (included VAT) respectively.

Dany Bolduc, Vice President of Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam at Research In Motion, commented: "The BlackBerry PlayBook will offer customers in Thailand an amazingly powerful experience in an incredibly portable 7" tablet design. Thanks to the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet's premium hardware features and sophisticated QNX-based operating system, users will enjoy an exceptional browsing and multimedia experience." Bolduc added: "We encourage customers to head to their local authorized retailer to try out the PlayBook for themselves."

The BlackBerry PlayBook features an ultra-portable design and delivers industry leading performance, uncompromised web browsing with support for Adobe® Flash®, true multitasking, HD multimedia, advanced security features, out-of-the-box enterprise support and a robust development environment.

BlackBerry PlayBook specifications:

• 7" 1024x600 WSVGA capacitive LCD touch screen

• Ultra-portable at less than a pound and less than one-half inch thick: 0.9 lbs (425g) and 5.1" x 7.6" x 0.4" (130mm x 194mm x 10mm)

• 1 GHz dual-core processor

• BlackBerry® Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing

• MP3, AAC and WMA audio playback

• Support for high resolution video playback (H.264, MPEG4, WMV)

Saw that new galaxy 2 smartphone, a bit small to do anything serious on the web with it-nice toys on it though. 22k, no thanks.

Although I'm a fan of QNX system and Playbook works better with Flash than Its comptetitors, its still not worth to buy.

I had access to a playbook for a couple of days. Nice size but its just not a contender.
