Flying In On A Treble Entry Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

If I have a treble entry tourist visa with just short of six months validity can I fly from LHR to BKK with a return ticket booked for just short of six months time?

Will there be any hassles with the airline or Thai immigration or is that just if you travel without a visa?

The hassle can be when travelling without a Visa, without one you would need proof of onward travel after 30 days or the Airline may refuse to let you fly.

With the Visa you have you should have no problems at all.

Enjoy your trip !

No problem to fly. Keep an eye on you use by date on the final visa entry. Immigration may not extend one of your 60 day stays as it could put you over the 6 month period. So if they refuse to extend they are helping you keep the full 3 entry visa. Also donot wait until the last minute to extend or to make visa run as the new stamp doesn't start until old visa expires.

Immigration should care less about an extension of stay being beyond the expiration date of a visa. And have not seen any reports that they do (but admit anything is possible as an exception). It is normal that extensions of stay extend beyond expiration date of a visa. If you want to use the entry you just leave/return before that date. There is no requirement that all entries must be used.

I mentioned this from personal experience. Talking to a German tourist months back they where asking about their visa and I gave them the standard spill. They then said that immigration in Chiang mai refused to extend their first entry and they had to make border run to activate the 2nd entry. After we discussed this a bit the only conclusion we could reach was that if they had gotten the first extension they would have been out the 3rd entry as it would have been beyond the 6 months use by date. They pocessed a triple entry tourist visa.

Because it hasn't been reported here doesn't mean it hasn't happened and will not happen again. There are many people visiting Thailand who have never heard of this site and they all have a story to tell.

I did not say it could not happen. But the fact so many people are missing the boat and reporting being late for last entry and only getting a visa exempt entry indicates it is not normal practice (which is what I did say).

How and where do you get a treble entry visa ?

Cheers
