PHUKET: -- A motorcycle accident early this morning claimed the life of a Phuket man as he drove between the Heroines’ Monument and Cherng Talay. Thalang Police responded to a call at about 2am reporting that an accident had occurred on Srisoonthorn Road in Baan Manik. A team from the Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation arrived at the scene to find a lone Suzuki motorcycle lying in a roadside ditch on top of its driver. After removing the bike to assist the man, the rescue volunteers found that he had died in the accident. The man’s identification revealed him to be 40-year-old Phuket resident Anucha Klimchun. A local resident said that he had come out of his house after hearing sounds of an accident and called 191 after seeing Mr Anucha lying at the roadside. Mr Anucha’s body was taken to Thalang Hospital. -- Phuket Gazette 2011-08-06
