I just wonder what my options are for retirement in Thailand. If I deposit 800,000 in the bank, that will be OK for me.

Is there an option for my wife who is not Thai and under 50.

I have heard that she can join me as a dependent.

Thanks

Correct if you obtain a one year retirement extension of stay with that 800k in bank account under your name for 60 days she could then obtain non immigrant O visa entry and matching one year extension of stay as your dependent with proof of marriage.

Is this also true for a Non Thai spouse over 50? Last year my wife was told that she would have to apply for her own retirement extension - with financials - as she was now over 50 ,despite the fact that she has received a dependents extension for the past several years.

Yes it is available to any spouse of any age. Only if she wished to independently have a retirement stay would she need to meet her own financials.
