Anyone has any idea where to buy a quality hammock and hooks like this?

If you can not find it at Needle in a Haystack Hardware Store, and chances are you will not, then get a large eye bolt and a climbing quality (not kee Jen) carabiner, and connect with that. What you show is a specialty quick connect type bolt for putting into wood. Nice to have the convenience, but being here in LOS, you might need to rethink that. But good luck in finding one. Might find it in Chiang Mai, or if you are real lucky, even find it in Chiang Rai, but don't forget to purchase a lottery ticket if you do. PG

I like to find a nice big strong rope hammock sort of like these:

Was going to bring one back in my suitcase from USA this year but the spreader bar is too long to fit...i guess i could cut it in half and then reglue it together in Thailand but surely someone must sell good quality hammocks here somewhere?

Check out www.jumbohammock.com They're on Koh Lanta and have been selling for years.

seeker

I saw someone selling hammocks with the stand alone metal stands on the side of the road in Ban Du earlier thus week. It was past the airport turn off and just before you get to the market if you're heading north.

I didn't stop to look st them, so have no idea about the quality.

I saw the guy again today so stopped and had a look.

1490 baht

I'm no hammock expert, but they hammock looked a bit flimsy to my. Not like the rope type hammocks I've seen.

The stand though looked OK and it looked like you could adjust the length of it by sliding the pipe out at the bottom.

The guy was pretty and friendly and said that he is there everyday.

He was just setting up when I saw him at midday.

HTH,

Rich

haha! Oops.... that's what happens when you think faster than you can type and you don't check before posting ohmy.gif

Ignore the 1st "and" in that sentence rolleyes.gif

I'm pleased to hear that Riggi... not that it would bother me if you like pretty guys of course... I'm pretty broad minded. B)
