Tot Land Line Charges

Featured Replies

I have a friend in overseas having a problem . I would like to talk with her and am considering giving her my TOT land line number. I use pre-paid phone and she will use up my minutes in no time as she loves to talk. not interested in using skype.

Before giving my land line number(I use it for ADSL) I want to know if there are any charges for receiving overseas calls or is it like in the US you pay for use of the line, receiving calls (as long as not collect) incur no additional charges.

There will be no additional charges...

Not interested in using Skype, why not? especially if it's going to be a long call, makes no sense to me?

I tried calling the English line of TOT for two days. First time waited 20 minutes. Second day got through after 30 minutes and after 4 transfers (couldn't understand the question), call either got dropped or Thai way of not wanting to answer something you don't understand-hang up.

I want to do work on my computer while talking to my friend-it is almost time for finals and i have 5 exams to write. When i say she likes to talk-she can talk almost one sided for three or four hours if you allow her. Using landline I can put her on speaker phone(she doesn't care) and do my work.

Skype works to speakers and microphone also! Just like hands Free.!

There are no charges for incoming calls, whether the calls are coming from within Thailand/across the street or from the other side of the Earth. Only "outgoing" calls rack up charges at the following rates. Link The wife gets calls on our TOT landline all the time from her friends here in Thailand and in the U.S. No charge to us. As long as we don't make any outgoing calls during the month the total bill is always 107 baht (100 baht basic line charge plus 7% VAT).

If using TOT to to international locations, recommend use of their 008 service, which starts at 3 baht/minute (plus 7% VAT) to some locations like to the U.S. Link I've used this method once or twice when my VOIP was down...works no problem with no bill surprises.

There are no charges for incoming calls on TOT and TT&T land lines.

Unlike the the US, there are no charges for incoming calls with Thai mobile phone carriers as well.

Just what I was going to say, if it's a Thai SIM.

So OP can give your friend either 'phone number.

+1 on this, start the call & minimize everything and continue with your work.
