Nature Walks, Fishing, Climbing ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

After living here 2 years now, and settled down quite good, my business is running, and im getting more spare time on my hands, we have 6 month old son, and 1 more underway.

I sit on my as all day working even when i dont need to.

I am a nature person, but, my wife dont se any what so ever benefit in going to the nature .-)

So my question is,

are there any one in the Chonburi area, with this hobby ? as i dont have experience enough to just talk on my own, i search for some one, who know good places to hicke climb fish, or similar.

I am no longer a tourist so i am not looking for expensive tours with guides,

I have a Pickup, so i / we can go anywhere, and i dont mind long drives.

Anyone have some information about a Club or something ?

Ps i live in Bangsaen 40 km north of Pattaya.

I know this is not the common, Bar discussion,

But there must be some expats in thailand who enjoy the nature ?

I love nature and spend a lot of time in the wilds of Thailand, but I stay up north in Chiang Mai. That is why I didn't answer your post initially. I only come down to Pattaya once a year to visit friends. I like hiking, photography and fishing. I'm an old fart (71) but in reasonable shape. I have a long thread in the photography forum about my travels in Thailand.

There are many good places to get away to in Chanthaburi Province. There are National parks like Khao Kitchakut National park that have waterfalls, hiking, fishing and a great place for photography.

Sounds like what i have in mind, i love photography aswell,

Im a young guy though 29 only, but i never been to a Bar in Thailand, its not my thing.

I hope i can find some pals, to take on some trips with, im sure some other than me can use a little fresh air.

However, i could go on my own, but then i should have some predefined rutes or something, and i am not 100% sure it vice to go aline in case of any problems.

i will check that out

i hope some will comment on the post, and we can team up, or they can point me in som direction for a expat club or something doing this, and not doing it for the money .-)

Hi

when this forum shows 'active members' it means they're online, not that they can actually do exercise!

I've been doing some threads on Chanthaburi area, a few hours south for you, in the Eastern Thailand forum, here's one for starters - while it's based around cycling there are plenty of good spots along these routes you could stop for a walk, have look at my other threads, the National Park one may interest you though all too far to do in one day.

For a nature walk - we spent a few hours today at Khung Kraben and I'll post some more pics later; great place with raised walkways 1.6km through mangroves, and if you wait a few weeks, they rent kayaks to tour round the estuary from 15 October to 15 April, at 50 baht per hour.

Atmos,

i consider to take 5 days to the wilderness in your area,

is there any maps which can help me find the locations worth visiting, special the raised walkways, i really like that.

How ever, if i just take the car down there, i never find it, and i will go alone as my wife is pregnant.

any suggestions.
