Tot Wireless Internet

Featured Replies

Went down to the TOT place and my wife enquired about their options which appear limited to a wireless box. I can't get any straight answers and the salesman already tried to BS my wife about being able to cancel anytime when it appears that it is a one year minimum contract.

Can anyone answer the following please?

Can the contract be terminated early?

Can the contract be transported to a different area ie from Lamphun to Pattaya?

Is it in fact a completely wireless system, or does it have to be used with a sender unit attached to the phone, which is what I assume it to be, but have been told it is not necessary to have a telephone connection?

Is it a high speed connection and is it reliable?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Why don't we try this in the technology forum????

Here's TOT webpage on their Wifi service: Link. Have google translate on. Various ways to pay such as prepaid and postpaid. There is a pay monthly application form in Thai which probably give the rules on canceling early, etc., if signing up for that particular plan. Links on the page also show the various/many points that the Wifi access points are available at. Good luck.

I used to hate my TOT connection but since around March this year they have improved a lot. I'm now totally happy with it. The speed I use is 9216/1024. I like to use a torrent program often and I've gotten speeds of 850kb+ and my TV connects to the internet and it always runs smoothly with no delays. Here is a speed test I just did.

Are you talking a TOT plan on an ADSL line?

Or are you talking the TOT Wifi plan? I though the TOT Wifi plan was limited to 1Mb download speed from client to access point.
