Middle Ring Road 100% Completion

Featured Replies

CM Rural Highway Dept announced a 100% completion of the Middle Ring Road, 26.108km. long. The road has been open to traffic since October 27, 2005. Currently officials are contacting the PM office to invite him to the opening ceremony.

The road project started in 1989 as a 6-lane road, with 30m right of way. It starts at Hwy107 at the CM provincial center, through Hwy 1001 (CM-Phrao), Hwy118 (CM-DoiSaket), Hwy1006 (old CM-Sankampaeng Road), Hwy1317 (New CM-Sankampaeng), Hwy11 (CM-Lampang), Hwy106 (CM-Lumphun) and Hwy108 (CM-Hangdong).

Construction commenced in 1995, and completed in 2005 for a total cost of 5.06billion baht, which included survey, design, purchasing right-of-way and construction.

Perhaps when the PM is in town someone can take him down the superhighway past San Dek and Chotana Road intersections where construction has been idle for months. What a black eye that contractor is giving Chiang Mai.
