KHON KAEN OFFICIALS AND PEOPLE TOGETHER RELEASED FISH INTO NAM PONG RIVER

The state officials and the local people in NAM PONG (น้ำพอง) District of KHON KAEN (ขอนแก่น) Province jointly released 250,000 fish into the NAM PONG River, contributing to the natural equilibrium.

KHON KAEN Governor JADE THANAWAT (เจตน์ ธนวัฒน์), said the event was held to revive the river. He indicated that over the past month, the river was polluted and caused many aquatic animals to die. The damage was worth more than 12 million baht.

The KHON KAEN Governor affirmed that he will investigate the cause of pollution, and then he will prosecute those who were guilty of decomposing the river. The officials have currently released water from UBONRAT (อุบลรัตน์) Dam to help dilute the decomposition in NAM PONG River.
