Golf Membership At Laguna Resort,Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking at the option of purchasing ( resale) a golf membership for Laguna Resort at Phuket.

I have seen one advertised for 350,000 baht with 13 years remaining.

I wanted to ask if any of you had purchased one of these resales, are there any " bear traps",did it work ?,are all green fees included ?,is this price reasonable ? etc etc.

Just to add I cannot afford to buy property on the resort so my plan is to live locally and motorbike in to play golf around 4 times a week.

Any advice of the viability of this would be much appreciated also.

Many Thanks.

I recently bought one at a course in Chiang Mai. All went smoothly, although, they were slow to process it, over a month, while I had the itch to go and play.

As far as paying green fees, just ask. Your membership will be like the others. I doubt you will have to pay green fees.

You will likely still have yearly dues.

You will still have to pay a caddy fee, and the somewhat obligatory tip. (This makes golf somewhat expensive, esp if you're paying 4 times a week.)

If you're nervous, get a lawyer to read the contract.. Although, I'd be very surprised a big name like Laguna would try to pull a fast one. Just make a list of all the questions you have before making the transfer.

you will also have to pay a transfer fee.
