Cheapest way to renew 30day visa from Samui

Hi,

Can you guys please advise me?

I'm currently on Ko Samui. My 30-day tourist visa expires soon.

What is the closest port of entry to renew?

I would like to renew with the lowest cost possible.

I've heard people just cross the border (10min) and walk back in. No money involved.

I would hate to have to purchase an expensive 30-day Myanmar visa (just to cross the border and back).

Is there a cheaper way?

Mini bus to Ranong, check at one of the agents, usually its all inclusive, including the $5 or so you will need at the Burma border. It isn't a walk across the border, it is a longtail boat. Can get hairy if the weather is bad. The minibus leaves Samui early am (5 or so) and returns that night. Not sure on the price, as I don't do visa runs, but they probably run less than 1000 baht.

Alternatively, you can go to Samui Immigration and get a 15 day extension for 1900 baht in about 10 minutes.
