Anyone used fast track on arrival.

Do they have a buggy car to take you up to immigration or do you walk with fast track person, its just i walk very fast

Do they meet you exactly as you exit the boarding ramp or at immigration lines.

My wife works with an airline, so she gives me 'fast track' passes. At Suvaranabhumi you walk as fast as you like towards the immigration area, then you follow the sign for 'fast track' which is to the right of the main immigration desks. You hand someone your fast track card and you go to the immigration desk. That's it.

Above is generally correct. However, last month I flew in on Oman business class and took advantage of their free limo offer. A girl with a name board met me at the ramp and walked me through passport control and to the luggage carousel, where we were met by a man who put my bags on a trolley. The two of them accompanied me through customs and delivered me to their limo driver outside. Have to say it was impressive!

In my experience (several different Star Alliance carriers), if you are flying business class, you get a Fast Track card on board, but the buggy ride from the airplane to immigration only comes with first class.

The Fast Track has changed its' name. It is now Premium Lane (I believe). The cards look different, but the location and everything else is the same. As of a couple of days ago, it was open.

I used fast track via emirates a week and a half back, everything as before for me, walked to the fast track immigration area, I never noticed the name change to premium there, although I didnt pay much attention to be honest, handed my fast track card along with passport etc to the imm officer, maybe Emirates are in the process of phasing out the old cards as my fast track card was identical to the previous one I had a month before

Fasttrack is a joke. You just end up waiting for your bags instead of in line. Thank the heavens for the smoking rooms is all I can say.....biggrin.gif

This is true, but you can have a sit down and don't have to contend with line jumpers or those who have neglected to fill out a landing card.

Noooo... very useful when there are v long queues at immigration ...plus for those of us that travel light (only carry on luggage) it gets you out of the airport in 15 mins!

I think Fast Track is temporarily closed whilst they build a new security area.

Open as of yesterday (16 December) and I have not ever seen it closed.

There's more than one anyway. So if they did need to close one, they can direct you to another.

More than one? Where? I've only ever seen the one in the middle of the arrivals terminal, in between the two regular immigration entrances.

Thai always sent me to the one by the diplomatic channels in the main hall. EVA use the separate one. With all those channels, it would be easy to set a couple up as fast track.

For my flight from PEK next month I've booked Business Class with Air China (TG are full). I think CA are part of Star Alliance - anyone know if you get fast track cards with them from recent experience ? It would be nice licklips.gif

You only get them if you are flying first or business class. Flight attendants pass them out onboard. Sorry, but frequent flyer status will not get you one.

I have never used the Fast Track card given to me on arrival.. I can never seem to find the priority lane.. and when I did once, it was longer than the economy lanes.. I usually join the standard lane adjacent to the Thai passport counters because they always call foreigners out of the foreign lane over to the Thai lane when the Thai lanes are empty (which is most of the time.

It is a great thing on the way out, but a bit pointless on arrival, I usually fly Qatar Business and I have never once seen my bag hit the carousel first when I arrive.

I flew Peking to BKK for the Chinese NY holiday, business class with China Airlines.

Didn't get a fast-track ticket for arrival but although the airport was very busy, using the TV monitors above the immigration halls allowed me to pick the lighter of the 2 and I only had to wait a few mins to pass through immigration. Baggage hall and the taxi queues were mobbed though and I had a to wait 10-15 mins there.

On the way back to Beijing the check-in girl gave me a fast-track card and it was bliss, straight through, even beating the airline crews. The 'normal' queue for immigration was at least 50-75m outside the area and looked to be taking a good while.

On the Beijing to BKK route, a business class ticket is 1000 RMB more than an economy seat. Well worth it in my opinion.
