I would take Lumpini Subway. About 10-15 min walk or grap a moto (but with the cool weather we have just ben blessed with the work is actually nice!). Cheers!

Thanks Firefan, I've tried looking at maps on the internet and it looks like Sala Daeng station is nearest, then down Sala Daeng road, at the end right and left into Suan Phlu road. But that's on the map, in reality it's probably a lot different! I'll take your advice and go to Lumpini.

Almost a toss-up distance wise yes but you save crossing Sathorn+the busy Silom area and what many maps miss is that Lumpini have an exit (no. 1) on same side as Ngamdupli(no need cross Rama 4) so you chose to go straight down Sathorn(not sure of exit no) (plenty of walking space but naturally many cars) or the less busy Ngamdupli (greener/nicer walk but less walking space). Cheers!

Because I came from Victory monument I decided on the skytrain to Sala Daeng, quite easy, turned down Soi Sala Daeng to the bottom and turned right. There is a footbridge across the road, 50m from Soi Suan Phlu, my only problem was that instead of the 10-15 minutes you said, it was near on 30 minutes. Not your fault mate, my TG is the slowest walker you ever saw. She often causes embarrassing (for me anyway) pedestrian jams and would stop if she walks any slower!
