I want to travel to the mainland before the end of the year and was wondering if there is a service you can recommend?

I'm not looking for VIP, Express, etc. as I have time so I can take the "normal" ferry and bus service.

Where, on Koh Samui, can I get the "normal bus & ferry" to Surat Thani?

What are the departure times?

You can buy the tickets when you get to the ferry terminal that you choose. On foot, you should not have a problem before Christmas. After Christmas a few ferries may be full (Lompraya).
