Wondering if the standard Amazon Kindle is being sold in Bangkok at MBK, Pantip, or Fortune, etc? What are the prices? If not, how would one in SE Asia go about getting one? At present am in Cambodia, what is shipping costs and import duty?

Thanks for that. Nice to see they are stocked at all. I was hoping they'd be available everywhere, hence price competition at which point I would give it a look see and perhaps buy one. I don't want one that badly, perhaps I'll drop into that place on my next trip though.

It's the best price I can find in Thailand at this moment and they're also provide customer service as well

Yup, arrived to Bangkok on xmas eve and was delivered on 26th so that might have something to do with it. It had customs declarations from US on the box stating correct value and as commercial item.

Did the math and ordered touch model and recon that even with fair amount of tax it would been the same as the basic model here locally.

Took two weeks to arrive, only 4 days in transport but seller delayed shipment as he needed to manually write address labels etc (too long address for his computer printed forms) and just took ten days to do it. But i didn't mind in the end

As Ipad2 is expected to be reduced in price to compete with Kindle next month after new models offered it might be good to see what price it goes down to if interested in good quality (more than a reader).

A colleague ordered one from http://kindle-thailand.in.th and it was delivered the office the next day. Don't know how much - didn't ask - because they don't turn me on.
