Anybody have any suggestions for places near Victory Monument?

(within about 12 minutes walk or so)

I am looking for a place 4,000-7,500 baht. (I will be staying for 3 months).

I would like internet in the room, or a place I can get DSL or wireless that is decently fast.

Don’t care about tv. Needs to be secure and clean, not to many bugs. Nice to have a balcony, and live on higher floors.

I lived in a place Ratchaprop before and it was fine, just like to know what else there is near the same area.

Anybody lived on the other side of Victory monument, near Mahidol University before?

Also anybody lived near mochit? Seems like it is also a place near a lot of transportation options.

Also open to suggestions of places with the near same level transportation options that victory monumnet has.

thanks

Hi.

I live near Victory Monument in Soi Rangnam. Small Single studio room / tv / air - 5000b/mth. Its a bit of a concrete box but not too bad.Mostly thai's with some farangs. The apartment block has internet for 500 baht / month through True (don't have it myself). There are also some other apartment blocks in that area around the 8-15,000 mark.

5 min walk to BTS and its certainly a convenient area to live near. Reply or PM me for more details.

VIP is the best around there. I know one guy who pays 12,000 baht a month.

I know another with a similar room who paid 8,500 by paying a year cash, and another guy still who pays 6,000.

I live near V.M; around Rang Nam Rd., have to pay 6000 Bt/month. a studio type, air/tv but no tv-set.. but, the thing is no dedicated phone line.. 'coz I can get ADSL.. and, the landlord is asking more money if I want to get the internet.. that's su*ck :o

so, if you are gonna get internet, make sure you had the dedicated phone line..

Thanks to everyone who replied. I ended up moving in the Ratachaprop mansion where I lived before.

Oh and I asked about getting ADSL, and there is a 500baht set up fee (by TOT I think?) and then Ratchaprop mansion wants to charge me 100baht a month, then I guess there is of course the monthly charge from TOT.

This is for Space Cowboy (I tried to reply to you but it didn't work)and for everybody's info:

Ratchaprop Mansion. It is 6,100 a month for a studio. The first month has a 25% surcharge if less than 4 months.

It has a pool and workout room. Both cost 40 baht each to use.

The room comes with a bed, small table, two chairs, a dresser, and another table. It is a small studio. There are 23 floors. It gets more expensive the higher you move.

The place is pretty full with maybe only 2 vacencies.

I have lived in Thailand before, I would not say I have a great deal of experince but it is a decent value, there are worse places for the same price.
