My Thai 1year driving licence expires on 15 Feb and I want to renew to get the 5 year licence. A couple of questions.

1) When can I go to do the renewal? Can I go in advance or does it have to be on the expiry date.

2) What do I need to take? Last time I had to pay to get medical letter and immigration letter. Do I need these again?

Thanks in advance for helpful answers.

I tried to go one day before mine expired (it expired on a Saturday). I was told to come back on Monday.

You go to the government place at Lipa Noi and you need all of the documents again.

With photo copies of everything too! There is a photocopy place outside.... You must dress appropriately too!.... Says that on the door! Your dealing with government officials! smile.png

But it was a simple process and you get your pictured license before leaving..... very cheap from what I remember, I thought I did mine a few days before, but don't really remember now! wacko.png ... if I remember correctly you need to do in AM....dry.png

Go there 8AM or 3PM.

If you go to the early one you must take reaction test and watch a video, not for the 3PM slot.

Your temporary one year license must have expired\, because to get the five year license you must have had the temporary for one year.
