My mother is visiting for several weeks and is looking for a shop that sells fabrics and cloth. I have only been living down here for 2 months so I don't really know where one would go for something like this. Has anyone seen a shop like this in the area?

The Jim Thompson outlet next to Home Works has a lot of nice fabrics and reasonably priced considering the brand

Naklua has a good Fabric shop... just pass the entance to the Banglamung Hospital on the right (coming from Sukhumvit)

All around the back of Tukcom are local tailors and associated fabric shops.

Coming from a family of women who sew, quilt, cross-stitch, and crochet like mad, I've often wondered why I've never seen a fabric store that sells fabrics, buttons, zippers, thread, patterns, yarn, etc over here. There seems to be a good market in the USA for places like JoAnn Fabrics. Is there anything comparable here in Thailand?

The second soi behind TukCom has such a shop. Between Day/Night 2 and DayNight 3, I think.

Also a big fabric shop in second road on a corner on the right just before Royal Garden!

The Thais I used to konw would go to Chonburi market to buy the cloth and then have it made up in Pattaya.

Not sure about patterns and yarn, but everything else is in those shops behind Tukom. Plenty of them there.

There is an excellent and very large Fabric stall at the Soi Bouakow day market on a Tuesday and Fridays.
