Hsbc Expat Explorer Survey

IMHO anything produced by HSBC is highly suspect.

Of all the banks, in all the countries, of all the world, they are extremely poor ----- and that is an understatement.

They are one of the few banks that isn't teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, which must be a point in their favour.

...and they're more influential in the banking world than appearances would have.

Interesting :

Expats in countries such as New Zealand (79%), Canada (60%) and Thailand (62%) were much more likely to say their work life balance has improved since relocating. Expats in these countries are more likely to report it being easy to integrate into the local community (New Zealand 75%, Canada 73% and Thailand 61%) than expats overall (58%). Similarly, expats in these countries (New Zealand 42%, Canada 27% and Thailand 21%) were also more likely than the global average (16%) to report a better quality of life compared to their home country.

It seems that expats with a negative experience of Thailand are far from the majority . It confirms that one shouldn't always believe what one reads in expat forums wink.png

Or what one reads in an hsbc report

Nothing but good service from HSBC for me, whether channel islands, UK, Thailand, Japn, only place I did not like their service was Indonesia.

Good range of services, large portfollio of their own and other companies products.

Wealth managers who are not trying to stuff a product which does not meet your risk spread.

Exchange rates are not best, but multi currency accounts are good, and easy to set specific transfer limits.

Free transfers internationally with internet bank.

Why so much mistrust and decry, I have been with them years and apart from Indonesia ( must close that one down ) never had a problem

Yes, very true! Most people I know here in the real world are very happy here, it's only really on forums like ThaiVisa where so much negativity prevails.

Thanks for the link. It is interesting and useful.

Certainly more useful than criticizing lol.
