Iv been having some problems with the inside of my mouth for a good 3 yrs now, there seem to be lumps either side inside cheeks, iv been taking some pills to take away the pain but they make me drowsy all the time..

Not to sure if its becuase i may unknowling bite my cheeks while im sleeping or something more sinister..but its been to long now so i wanna get it sorted

Can anyone recommend a resonable price hostpital in BKK who may have specialist for mouth problems where someone can check it out, iv got work insurance so providing it isnt way over the top they should cover it.

Assuming you are in BKK as your user name suggests, there are many to choose from. I suggest you ask a Thai friend who they would recommend as they are more likely to be cost wary. However, as suggested by the sensible (shame about the idiot, they get everywhere!) posters above, get it sorted as soon as possible.

First there's the diagnosis and then the treatment. Do not skimp on the diagnosis! That's where you need the best and most experienced doctor with all the right equipment at his/her disposal. The treatment plan next you can think about and budget and maybe go somewhere else. Having said that, I swear by Bumrungrud. Sorry I can't make a recommendation about an ENT specialist but my sense is that their doctors are all pretty top-notch. I have been there several times for various (fortunately minor) problems. A first visit has never run me more than 2K (including meds) and they've sorted me out every time.

Good luck and get well!

I would have thought that being in the mouth the first port of call and easiest would be a Dentist, they could certainly ascertain the problem and take it from there.

I receintly used Mission Hospital in Bangkok and was impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff. Unlike many of other Thai hospitals I've been to. The American doctor, Nick, Walters is great and easy to talk to. Not hi-so in any way. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Are they a mouth ulcer/canker?, my Brother suffered for years and medication didn't work at all and same as you he was drowsy and had an upset tummy. The cure was cream of tartar on a q-tip, he left it on for 30 minutes and within a week they were gone. I have no idea where you can find it in BKK, maybe someone can comment- I think it is for baking ? ? ? ? ?

No clue what causes them but I would also go to a dentist and find out what they say as your first stop.

Try Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital operated under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration off Rama III - on the left side when heading toward Krueng Thep Bridge. Was there recently and quite impressed.

A colleague recently went there for an examination and series of blood tests and all at standard Thai pricing.

Police General Hospital recently introduced a "farang tax" - Bt1,000 administration fee - at the A&E department which includes no services.

2nd St Louis Hospital: high standards, reasonable charges.

You don't get Starbucks and Au Bon Pan but you do get quality professional care.

Chulalongkorn University Hospital is cheap and has many great doctors. Go there after around 4 pm and get to the special clinic to avoid the 2 month queue. You need to pay a bit extra for special clinic but still much cheaper than those private hospitals.

sirirad (some thais call it the kings hospital becasue HM stays there when is ill )

in pinklao ,its a public hospital so expect it to be busy from 9-4 (but cheap)

you can go after 4 and it costs a bit more becaue the doctors are on overtime

but still cheap and the sme doctors are trained in america and europe

My recommendation is Vejthani Hospital on Lad Phrao rd soi 111. CLose to Mall Bang Kapi.

Any problem at all, we go there. Not too expensive and good service.

Doctors and dentists are good.

PS: But then again I am Evil Dr Somkid, so .... LOLO just kidding.

Hope you get your issues sorted.
