yes i did think to buy a multi charger, but decided to order a canon charger £50,so quite sure its not a voltage or charger problem, new canon battery is on order waiting delivery now £50,again could of brought a multi battery half the price but i think its best to use canon products,

get similar problem on Canon battery and charger, then similar solution of buying a new Canon charger in Thailand, so expensive for what it is. problem persists.

now I have 2 batteries of 4 years old, 1 old and 1 new chargers. from random tests, I realised that there are contact issues between individual batteries and individual chargers. batteries still fine, both chargers are okay, just the contact point failure.

you may apply a velco strip to tighten the battery on the charger, or simply put some heavy books on top. then monitor the behaviour of the charging light.

just had the battery back from test lab,its burnt out,ive charged it many times in thai as well as the uk,but my recent visit to thai i charged it up in the hotel, with out useing my uk to thai voltage plug adaptor, has this hotel had provision for 3 pin plugs, wont be doing that again, charger is in working order, just burnt out the battery,

Thailand and the UK use almost the same mains voltage. In fact Thailand is 10 volts lower (220v versus 230v).

My Canon charger is universal 100-240V
