I wish you the very best of luck Mate. I married a beautiful Thai woman after a fairly short period and never regretted it once... until today that is when I had to break the news that due to the declining income from my investments I was going to have to return to the UK and get a job again. (Been here four and a half wonderful years). Obviously I'll continue to support her and my stepdaughter until I've saved enough to return.

There are times when you have to follow your heart... I always remember the verse from CS Lewis;

Make your choice adventurous stranger, Strike the bell and bide the danger, or wonder 'til it drives you mad what would have happened if you had.

Thanks for those kind words, and I wish you a prosperous return to the UK, and also a speedy return to your family.

I feel a bit about my current situation from the Kipling poem "If"

"If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings,

And never breathe a word about your loss:

Or perhaps this verse might be more pertinent for some TV posters.

"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,"

I admire your positive attitude ShanePashen, and as you've done before.....ignore all those trying to put a negative spin on the life you and you alone has chosen.

Good luck with everything and keep regular here on TV, I like your posts.

Cheers (from a fellow Aussie). thumbsup.gif

KIDS?

She just might be saying like ...

I'm hoping once she sees mine, she will never want any of her own!

Kids is something we have discussed and I would prefer to not have any more.

She says she would like one, but says its not a deal breaker with her.

However I still have an open mind to it, it's something we really really need to look at very hard, and make a decision about.

I know this is a stale thread, but I just have to say something. I'll PM the OP and alert him to it.

Shane, I intended posting after reading to page 3, and when I scrolled through to page 10, you've done it, married!!

I was going to say that you're nuts, and you may be. You did say you welcomed all input, no matter how brutal.

We've all been stricken by 'the fever', my own experience back in 1969 when I was not much more than a kid in the RAAF in Singapore. I went on to better things in life, but Asia, all of it, has always been my favorite destination, and over the years I've spent a LOT of time there, even worked in several Asian countries, drawn back again and again, but I've never succumbed to the fever. There have been plenty of women, all attractive, all hot in the cot, but ..... .............................

You'll hear a lot about 'my/our (She talking) customs', but keep in mind you have customs too, and they don't include keeping a raft of relatives who have a sick buffalo, grannie needing an operation, brother's kids' school fees need paying, and on it goes.

Bear in mind that if you go down the path of a Binding Financial Agreement, your now spouse MUST get independent legal advice, and documentary evidence MUST be supplied by the lawyer providing it, before it can be lodged. Her lawyer will be acting for her, even though you are paying, and his advice will almost certainly be not to sign if it's stacked your way (as it should be), because she's bringing nothing to the partnership except a body.

Finally, get yourself in and have a vasectomy!! She'll knock out a kid, and then you're a poor man for the rest of your life.

Good luck.
