Drive To Khiang Tong....Possible?

Hi there

I have heard of a friend of friend driving himself to Khiang Tong via Tachilek and Chiangrai.

I would like to do this.

Could anyone fill me in on the logistics, I know nothing about visas or car docs or anything.

First friend told me I had to go by taxi but am assured one can drive but the contact not available right now.
