hi guys, moving to mandalay in april. what is accomodation like there please ? i am not a snob so can live in a very basic place. preferrably furnished, what sort of monthly rent am i talking about. do i have to pay in advance ? any help is apprreciated. thanks.

Unlike, Yangon, Mandalay does not have real "Expat" accomodation (yet).

Foreigners staying long-term are usually still staying in hotels.

I know there are plenty of Chinese nationals from big Chinese companies staying in the SEDONA Mandalay, they occupy several floors there (and the SEDONA-Staff is NOT happy about that).

there was a new high-rise popping up some time ago near Zey-Gyo, but from what I remember, it has been abandoned and not been completed.

But as Myanmar is about to open-up finally, things will change quickly.
