Growing Veg In Bangkok

Everybody on this forum is so helpful and knowledgable that I thought I would chance my arm with another query.

Last year I tried to grow tomatoes, courgettes and runner beans in my garden in Bangers. While all germinated fabuloulsy they only reached about 25cm in height before they stopped growing. Can anyone suggest a way around this. I would love to be able to harvest my own stuff. Short of growing them on the landing outside the flat (which would look delightful) I am at a loss. I wondered if it was too sunny and hot for them.

Thanks for your reply doctor. I had one posted about the plants in my garden about 10 days ago and got good advice on this forum.
