Tv With Wireless Internet Ready Facility

Recommended Posts

Just bought a Sony TV which is internet wireless LAN ready, but apparently I have to buy a plug in adaptor for it before I can connect. My internet deal at the moment is the TOT 7Mb package.

2 questions. Does anyone know exactly what I require to buy (the wireless adaptor)so that I can use this facility, and is it worth it with the internet package I have?

I did a search and found this adapter for your TV - UWA-BR100 wireless adapter

As far as it being worth it, it really depends on what media sites the TV is offering. Youtube on a TV is cool to have, but I'm personally not a huge fan. Most the other stuff they put on those TV's

is not that appealing in Thailand.

In the states you can pull in Hulu, Netflix and others but here you would need a VPN router to since those sites are restricted to USA IP's.

On my setup I do a few things to keep myself from getting bored -

USA VPN Router hooked up to an Apple TV and Roku Box - for Hulu and NetFlix and other media stuff

WD Live Media Center - connected on my network for downloaded Torrents

SlingBox and SlingCatcher - to stream live TV from my house in Vegas (this is the best, since it also has DVR ability)

UK VPN - for BBC Iplayer on my computer

As my own post was about the same subject, may I join in? LEd seems the way to go, the KDL 55ex720 with 55 inches is too big for my purposes..

But I wonder what it will do to an internet pix at 72kb resolution? How far away you have to be to enjoy the image?

Review of the screen are good http://tinyurl.com/882yhtp.

Mr Oakweb, can I buy your expertise, do you live by any chance in Chiang Mai, Because your Utubecomment is right on, that was my motivation but it sure will quickly get boring. The rest you are talking about, I don´t have a clue about, Bloomberg is about the only channel I see on True but want to broaden my horizon.

Could I use a TV like this in my conference room for presentations without the need to physically connect a cable to a laptop computer? In other words, could I wirelessly connect the laptop to the TV and show a Power Point presentation or other content?
