I completed my application for a retirement visa at the Thai embassy in London and on arrival at Bangkok was given a stamp indicating that I am permitted to stay until December 2006. This is a multiple entry visa so that I can return to the UK in a couple of months and tie up some loose ends before settling permanently here.

My query is what the next stage is as I believe I have to attend some office to register my address.

You only have to register after 90 days inside Thailand. So if you travel before that time you start a new count upon return (travel often and never stay 90 days in a row you never have to register). It will be 90 days from the entry date of the latest TM.6 arrival card in your passport. It may be done at any immigration office and even by mail. The form used is TM.47 and available for download on the internet.

Many thanks for your reply. I intend returning to the UK around March for a month to wrap things up but then intend settling here for good so I guess I will be using the form TM47 quite a lot.
