Connectivity Error

Featured Replies

I generally use wi-fi with my mobile at home and outside in bars and restaurants both in Thailand and UK (usually faster than 3G and HSPDA)

However there is one bar in Bangkok where I always get a connectivity error. My phone shows that wi-fi has successfully connected but always get the error message when trying to access any site.

I assumed that there was an error with the restaurant wi-fi set-up but yesterday I checked with another customer and he was connecting successfully.

Any ideas???

do you have to enter a password and login to access?

do you have to enter a password and login to access?

Password had been remembered and showed wi-fi as connected i.e. no automatic option given to re-enter password because the connection has been correctly established. Yet there was a connectivity error.

Maybe I should connect the wi-fi from scratch again, but this will have to wait for my next visit to the restaurant (next alcohol free day?).

Just seems odd, I assumed it was the restaurant's fault but was surprised when another person could connect.

Problem solved.

It seems that the free wi-fi connection in the restaurant is fully connected-up with the mobile phones and notebooks of their staff, so customers can't get a look in.

Thus the 'data connectivity problem'
