Need Recommendation For Bangkok Last Will Lawyer

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a tried and true legal service in Bangkok with ability to write last wills? Living wills?

Please don't recommend Sunbelt or Siam Legal as I have read some negative posts about both.

Thanks,

I recommend do what I did and they told me it was quite legal. You write one in plane language in both English and Thai then register in city register office. You need to take 2 witnesses excluding close relative, mother, mother in law. And make sure you trust the witness and they live longer than you

That may well be appropriate for some folks but not all.

There is also the point that your will 'directives' must be within appropriate laws of Thailand.

Therefore better to get an experienced lawyer to construct the words / sentences to ensure your wishes can are carried out as closely as is possible (within the law), and also to ensure there is no chance of ambiguity / no possibility of misinterpretation of your wishes.

For a lot of general info on "Wills" in Thailand go to the Pattaya forum, Pinned section, and click on "Will Advice". If I knew how to do it I would make a link to the forum.

Hi,

This question is still unanswered. Please Help!

I tried to keep this simple. I need a recommendation for a lawyer in Bangkok that can do a good job. I need a recommendation because I don't want to just find a lawyer of questionable morals.

I won't use Sunbelt and Siam Legal because of negative posts regarding their abilities.

I've read and posted on the Pattaya "Will Advice" post. It is very good post. It made me change my mind about writing my own handwritten will as it leaves too many loopholes. Here's a link to that topic.

I suggest poster givenall read that topic there. If you do one little thing wrong - such as use witnesses that can't read English - you're in trouble.

Thanks,
