Anybody know the procedure for obtaining a letter from immigration to confirm my address?

Would there be a 2 hour wait like there is for a 90 day report or visa renewal?

going for one tommorow,i belive?that you go to middle counter, but dont no how long it takes, some one said it costs a 500 bht bung, lol.

They charge 500 Baht, no receipt.....funny how speedy the process can be at times.

Got the form today but will come back with the encyclopeadia of photo copies later. No mention of 500 baht though.

Whenver money is paid down there (it's cash only) it just goes in a drawer/s I've noticed.

Well, you could always use the alternative and go to the British Council, where you will pay many many factors higher than 500 THB. Same at the American consulate.

But they will give you a beautiful crisp computer generated receipt, if that is the most important thing you are looking for.

I got a Certificate of Residence at CM Imm last Oct 2011 when I bought my last bike. Really not such a big deal- went to the middle desk, gave them all the copies and the form; had it about 45 minutes later.

Is this the 'immigration letter' one needs to get for the chnage of ownership in a car's blue book? If so what does immigration need as supplementary docs?

Passport + copies of pages and copy of proof of accommodation (rental contract/lease paper/etc). Note theat only the buyer needs this paper, the seller only needs a valid passport (immigration stamps indate).

Quite right Mr. McG, but to be fair that's not really the point is it? wink.png

Personally, I'm OK with this and it's convenient for me, but I don't then feel sorry for 'their hard work' like a lot of posters do. Not issuing a receipt and putting money in a drawer is no different from the BIB collecting tea money in other instances and I certainly don't feel sorry for them.

Thank you.
