Online, Off Line, Away

Featured Replies

Just a thought and wondered if the technology is available on this forum. Not knowing much about computers :o

When on MSN Messenger, you can tell if your buddy is online, away, busy, off line etc.

As i am on broadband, i usually stay on line 24 hours but i am obviously away from my computer for much of the time. So quite often i get PM's but don't respond to them cos i'm not here, i also send pm's but don't get replies until later as the other member is away but looks like they are on line.

Just wondered if the software that TV uses is capable of this function i.e. if not active for a while the members name changes colour, or when you hover your mouse above the members name it could say "away" etc, similar to how you can see if a member is replying. That way you can actually tell if a member is truly on line.

Just a thought :D

//edit - sorry decided to remove my inital comments since this is the forum support desk and not being an admin. But it is an interesting idea though I suspect difficult to implement. Now if they would just add a "Delete last post" feature. :o

Yeah, me not being a techno guru, i don't know how easy or difficult it is, even if possible. But it really is a useful function on MSN.

you edited as i was replying :D

It is a nice idea MrBoj,

But as it stands if your mates are online (didn't know you had any :D ) you can hover your cursor over their name and it will tell you the last time they were active (at the bottomn of the main page).

Essentially the same thing as you are asking, except for the fact that you have to hover over their name to find out the last time they were active :o

:D

Have a nice weekend mate.

Ah, we learn something new everyday, i didn't realise it did that.

Cheers buddy :o

BUT if the member's name appears on the bottom of the main page ... doesn't that mean that are are ONLINE? Not always the case!
