Latest update Advanced System Care 5.2.0 has attachment V9 that steals your homepage, add's a program folder, web browser extensions, etc.

I spent 2 days trying to get rid of it using website blockers, spyware, you name it.

I even added the 2 links to blocklist in in firefox and IE but still wouldn't go.

I only got rid of it by doing System Restore.

Yes I sent tweets to Iobit (ASC)

I had the same problem and the only way I got rid of it was to uninstall Google Chrome and IE 9 and re-install. Problem solved.

I found that had happened, couldn't stop it been my web page then I did ... Control Panel ... Programs ... Locate V9 ... Uninstall worked for me. the set home page back to what it was........

that's why i declined (unticked) that option when i installed it yesterday.

Been using ASC for years without trouble plus I didn't know what v9 was so figured could delete it later.

Yes that was a mistake.

Even if you have been using a piece of software without issues for years, each time you upgrade or do a re-install, don't just click on the default 'Next'... 'Next'... buttons. Some software companies sign up to bundle search engines and the like with their product and the next thing you know, your browser home page looks like it has been hijacked or the default search engine is forced to go another way. Most times the un-installation of these buggers isn't obvious or easy. The best way to avoid these <deleted>!? moments is whenever an installer offers an 'Advanced' option versus a 'Next' option, go with the former. Most times you will be presented with an option to install/accept browser and search engine changes or install another program concurrently. Annoyingly, the default usually has the selection boxes pre-selected so you must un-check them to make sure you aren't installing more than you want.
