BookMan
That's not bad, good for Melbourne not having to face Sydney. Overall I am happy with the saints fixture as I want to see the kids have a hard knock and earn their positions. Saints were going to be down anyway. Saints draw looks better than you might think chhoks. Looks like they only meet one time each: Essendon Geelong Hawks Sydney Freo A lot of the other games are against teams fighting for 6th - 10th positions
ripstanley
2014 Premiership Season AFL Fixture Toyota http://www.afl.com.au/fixture.workstation Now 3 games on Anzac Day, kinda takes the gloss off the Collingwood/Essendon game doesn't it. St Kilda has one of the games.. I thought St kilda was playing in NZ on Anzac day? Yes they are playing in N.Z V Brisbane . Collingwood should be happy with the draw as usual, 14 games at the MCG, 4 interstate trips. The poor bastards will have to travel 3 kms across town to Ethiad Stadium 4 times for away games tho. Saints 6 interstate games and 1 in N.Z play the top 8 twice and just one game against GWS and Melbourne, that is going to test the metal of the new young kids. Probably good for them in the rebuilding period and they may just pinch 2 wins against GWS and Melb. Quick glance at the Swans draw and it looks pretty good. Freo once Geelong once Hawks twice Melbourne zero times Swans play Melbourne Round 6 in Melbourne http://www.afl.com.au/fixture.workstation?roundId=CD_R201401406#tround

GrantSmith
Thought it was supposed to be a more "difficult" draw for the Top 4 teams of this year? Guess the AFL has a different interpretation of "difficult" AFL at Adelaide Oval... I think I might have to make a trip to see the parents in April... I thought he had a great year. Brad Daziell is a poor footballer and he basically continued to get games last year because of continuing injuries to Kerr, Shuey, Welligham and Selwood. Plus too much faith was put in him by John Worsfold who had a real bad year in the coach's box. He's one of those footballers who is an elite runner but has poor skills and always wants to make it someone else's problem when he's under pressure. New coach Simpson has already got brownie points in my book for chopping him and Morton. He'll probably get picked up as he's only 26 and I hope he does. But glad he's gone from WCE as he's the ultimate list clogger IMO.

But glad he's gone from WCE as he's the ultimate list clogger IMO. What is your prediction for West Coast next year Will27? Mate I'd be disappointed if we didn't make the 8. We've been cruelled by injury for 2 years now. I reckon we've got a good backline, real good forward line and an ok midfield/following group. Nic Nat is a huge key for us if he plays. It also allows Cox to go forward more. Still not happy about giving up our number 6 pick for 11 in order to get Yeo. At least Yeo has some pace and run but I don't believe in giving up a number 6 pick for a half- back flanker. Our fixtures for next year are pretty good. I'd expect us to win our first 3 games and I reckon we could be 5/3 or 6/2 at the bye in round 9. Then again, last year I thought we'd be 8/2 after 10 rounds
Old Croc
If WCE are in the finals, what's the chance of them sending a reserve side to the Gold Coast for round 23? Freo set the precedent.

chooka
If WCE are in the finals, what's the chance of them sending a reserve side to the Gold Coast for round 23? Freo set the precedent. Actually Ross Lyon set the precedent at St Kilda. 2009 Ross Lyon decimated the team in round 20 against Essendon dropping 14 senior players ahead of the finals. The Saints were undefeated for the season and went down in that game by 3 points because rewoildt missed a shot after the siren. The next week he played the same team against hawthorn in Tasmania and the saints thumped the hawks. 20 straight games was the record, held by Essendon and I was so pissed off. We could have gone 22 straight. Edited October 31, 2013 by chooka
Will27
If WCE are in the finals, what's the chance of them sending a reserve side to the Gold Coast for round 23? Freo set the precedent. I remember reading somewhere that the AFL had introduced a rule to try and prevent it happening. I'm not sure what the penalties are and how you'd police it. It's a good move, especially if you have to travel.
