Korean Food In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hey, I've been in Bangkok for a while now, teaching. I've not really gotten out much. As much as I love Thai food, I get nostalgic for Korean from my previous job over in SK. I know of Koreatown on Sukumvit, but I was hoping to hear some other suggestions, if there are any, for places to get Korean food without having to pay 300 baht per plate in a tourist trap. I heard that there is a tiny place not too far from the On Nut BTS, but I've not found it. Any help would be appciated because I'm in almost medical need of some galbi, pajeon and kimchi.

Let's try this over in the Bangkok forum.

Topic Moved.

Can't help with a restaurant as we live well out of town, but I noticed last week that Tesco (at least in Rangsit) are now carrying a range of imported Korean sauces, I saw bulgogi and kalbi (for both beef and pork).

Made spicy daechi kalbi for the (Thai) Missus who has always said she doesn't like Korean food. She does now, result!

Next task, persuading her she likes kimchi :P

This is a small Korean place on Pipat 2 (also called Narartiwas 3). From Chong Nonsi BTS walk down Naratiwas 3/Pipta 2 and you will pass Trinity Complex on your left (tallest building in the street). The Korean place is the next on the left. It's called Full House. I've never been inside but it's very clean and prices are quite cheap. It's about 2 mins walk from the BTS station.

1.that Koreastown is the Sukhumvit Plaza- an enclosed 4-high block full of Korea-aimed shops, incl restrts-and sauna and more-beside soi 12.

2.for cheap one cannot beat Khao sarn and around-though I am well aware that most established expats are horrified by the name alone-and take any chance to p..s on it-even if they have never ever been. Korea also has its fair share of bekpekkers-and they-like most Koreans-flock together and thus have places catering to them. NO-its not the Thai 30 bt plates-but much less as 300-think of 99 for beebambhop and the like. here is one also beside the National galler on Chao Fa road-beside the bridge towardThonburi, opposite sanam Luang

Go to soidb.com. I found some local restaurants in their website. I saw a Korean BBQ restaurant catered mostly for locals on Petchaburi Road closer to Phrom Phong. It's on the left on the way to Amari (which is on your right, if you are coming from Pratunam)

All good answers. Thanks all. I'm currently staying near the Surasak BTS station, so Chong Nongsi is just a hop away, I'll go looking for it later this week.

I heard there is some kind of a korean community around rama 3, not sure exactly where, but would not surprise me if they also had some korean restaurants around there.

Although mainly Japanese, I think there are some Korean restaurants in Tong Lor...
