ATO1994 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 A good place for fireflies watching is in Amphawa, Samut Songkhram. It is a one and half hours journey from Bangkok. Amphawa Floating Market (Night Time) which is open during Fri-Sun. Have An Enjoyable Trip ...
chubby Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 yes, i know 'bout amphawa, but want to jut go over to phra paedaeng and maybe do a homestay anyone ?
p_brownstone Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Fireflies หิ่งห้อย in Thai (Hing Hoy) are attracted to the Lamphu tree which grew extensively along the Klongs in the Amphawa area - not at all sure if it grows in Phrapadaeng too however. Sadly the Firefly population in Amphawa is reducing at quite a fast rate because the Klongside residents got tired of the noise and disturbance caused by the boats carrying tourists to view them in the evenings and destroyed a lot of the old Lamphu trees.
