[Myanmar] ANA to Resume Flights to Burma

All Nippon Airways Co, Japan’s biggest airline by passenger numbers, said on Wednesday it will resume regular flights to Burma for the first time in 12 years, according to a report by Reuters. “We are making preparations to be able to start flights as soon as possible,†said ANA President Shinichiro Ito, adding that the airline was considering direct flights between Tokyo and Rangoon. Most air travel to Burma is currently routed through Bangkok or Singapore. Japan is currently at the forefront of efforts to enter the Burmese market amid political and economic reforms.
