Hi all,

I'll be in Bangkok on Saturday and Sunday and wanted to get some things at Panthip Plaza.

Will it be open both days?

I'd prefer to go Saturday as that is when I definitely have some free time, but if it will be all shut up, and only open on Sunday, then I'll try and get there Sunday instead.

Also, is there a way to get there via MRT/Skytrain that avoids the street (and getting wet) as much as possible?

thanks,

Rich

Do not take the Skytrain, if you don't want to get wet, it's about a 10 minute walk from the station. Instead take a taxi directly there and have them drop you inside the parking building. Then get a taxi from the taxi area at the side on the way back.

Walking around the streets with electronic equipment this weekend would be foolish.

As for being open i'm pretty sure they would be, but obviously some individual shops may be closed inside.

Thanks.

Actually, someone here in Chiang Rai said that I might be able to get what I want (a USB OTG cable, an MHL to HDMI adaptor, and maybe a spare battery for a Galaxy Note) at MBK as they have a large number of mobile phone shops and Panthip is more for computers.

Which would be better?

MBK or Panthip?

I think I can get to MBK from the sky train without having to walk on the street too... yes?

Fortune is also easily accessible (from the Metro at Pha Ram 9) but as noted above, many of the smaller outlets where these sort of thing are sold will be closed.

From what i can make of it, for phone stuff MBK is the place, a whole floor for phones and such.

Pranthip is all about computers.

OK. Thanks guys.

I'll check out MBK today and see who's open.

I realise that not all of the stores may be open, but I'm hoping at least one that sells what I want will be :)

This has been really helpful. Saved me a trip to Panthip, as it looks like MBK is easier to get to.
