Unwanted Wifi

Featured Replies

i got true adsl and it came with a wifi router made by a company callled "billion"

i plugged it in and it worked (wifi and ethernet )

i have done a hard re-set on the router many times and it seems it just re-configures itself with wifi

what i want is to just use the ethernet cable and have no wifi signal broadcast 24/7

i have went into the router options and unchecked the box for wi-fi but it just comes back on by itself

what am i doing wrong ?

The hard reset! Assuming you are really doing a hard reset that will put back default settings.

Just turn off Wifi, click the 'save' button and do a soft reboot and it should stay off. If your unit has a removable antenna remove it for added peace of mind.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

no antenna = weak wifi signal

stop with the hard reset as suggested

Log into your router, go to settings, somewhere there should be : radio off

I think as mentioned earlier.. make sure you SAVE the configuration after you change the settings or after a restart it may revert back to previous settings.

the poster said he was going to use the ethernet cable , so if you take the antenna off I do not think you even get a weak signal that anyone could log into.....

At least thats how I do it at my place .
