Canadian Embassy to discontinue income affidavit notary service April 1st, 2025
I can make or edit a bank statement in 5 minutes. How is that verification of anything? There's a reason a bunch of the SE Asian Thai embassies were requiring people to come in and open their banking app on their phone and show the live balance along with bank statements for a while. Thailand doesn't trust foreign bank statements (as they shouldn't). -

Heavy Rains Cause Flood Chaos in Banglamung District
It sure did...... some of the flood measures, which have rendered the road surfaces dodgy enough when dry, were masked by floodwater too! Stuck on the Railway line bypass dripping at the 7-11 for an hour! -

Foreign Workers Smuggled in Pickup Truck Seized at Border Checkpoint
Picture of arrest. In a successful operation conducted by local authorities in collaboration with the military, a group of foreign workers attempting to enter Thailand illegally was arrested at a border checkpoint in Sangkhlaburi district, Kanchanaburi province. At around 08:00 on 18 February, Police General Naywat Phadermchit, Commander of Provincial Police Region 7, and Police General Phonchai Chaloedet, Commander of Kanchanaburi Provincial Police, received a report from officers at the Sangkhlaburi Police Station. They had intercepted a Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck attempting to smuggle foreign workers across the border. The truck, which had a modified rear bed, was registered under the license plate number from Phetchaburi. The vehicle was driven by a 33-year-old man, identified as Mr. Akwa, a stateless individual. Upon searching the truck, authorities discovered 10 male and 5 female foreign workers, hidden in the truck bed and covered by sacks of cassava. The suspects were immediately arrested and will face legal proceedings for illegal immigration and people smuggling. This successful operation highlights ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to combat human trafficking and prevent illegal border crossings. -- 2025-02-19 -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
There's no way to enter Thailand without getting a stamp. The automated gates are for EXIT ONLY. You will go to a manned booth and receive a stamp when you return. Immigration at the airports has gotten better in my last few trips, but still expect them to look at your passport for a while. They seem to take forever when processing an LTR to enter. I entered through Nong Khai a couple months ago and that took ages.
