Chiang Mai Night Safari Holds Naming Contest for White Tiger Cubs

CHIANG MAI: -- Chiang Mai Night Safari is holding a naming contest for its new white tiger cubs, while the winner will be getting a one-year free entry to the zoo.

Chiang Mai Night Safari has welcomed two new female white tiger cubs and is holding a naming contest in which the winner will receive a free annual pass to the zoo for two persons plus 5,000 baht worth of gift voucher.

With the latest additions, Chiang Mai Night Safari now has a total of 17 white tigers.

Previously, the zoo held a naming competition for two male white tiger cubs on a condition that the names must be in the local Lanna language. The tiger cubs were named Hong Kwan and Punpon, picked from a pool of 700 names submitted.

This round of contest is requiring names that are universal and catchy. Participants may send postcards with two names written on them to the zoo's Public Relations Office until June 10.
