Weekend In Kl What To Do?

Featured Replies

OK guys, I am off to KL for 11 days for work and my wife is visiting from Australia and will accompany me. I have a three day break between courses, Fri, Sat, Sun. I have some experience in KL but mostly drinking in Bukit Bintang and eating in Jalan Alor. Any suggestions as to what activities will appeal to the wife over those three days?

Genting Highlands for some cool air (there's a casino there too!). I liked Batu Caves, which is an Indian Temple in a cave. Bangsar on weekend nights can be quite happening; KL's rich and cool come out to play in their ferraris, lambos etc...so I went there to ogle at expensive/vintage cars!

Other than that, it's like BKK (without Nana/Patpong)...ask your Malaysian colleagues, they'll point you to whatever whets your appetite.

The Royal Selangor Factory is well worth a visit.

From what I remember it's free and you also get a guide to show you around.

Next to the twin towers there is a shopping centre that has all the big hitters plus many more and numerous eating spots. There is also a walkway to the aquarium which is well laid out and worh a look. I liked one part and the missus the other.

Consider the revolving tower for dinner. It's buffet but reasonable but the view will cost 4,000baht for the 2 but as a one off it's OK.

I lived there for a couple of years a long time ago. In the first month I scoured the map for a place called Bautixon because thats where the locals told me to visit..It turned out I should have looked for Port Dickson. It was an hours drive away ( I think) and twas like Pattaya without the bars, girls and decent places to eat....but it may have changed and be worth a visit!..

Malaka was a good weekend away..It may get your missus in a romantic mood so stock up on the Jonnie Wikinsons ( cos all it needs to <deleted> an Aussie is a Jonnie. An old World Cup joke I know but couldn'T resist it)
