Can you believe it!

The first ever Philippines Rugby Union representative team have just got back from Hong Kong where they competed in the Kowloon International Rugby 10s tournament.

In a magnificent showing, the Philippine Volcanoes got right through to reach the championship final - where they eventually lost to the USA, the tournament favorites, score just 12-0. To say those other guys were surprised by the Philippine performance (we were the tournament outsiders) would be a true understatement. They were shell-shocked!

Local players Carlito "Arlo" Abono, Eliver "Monkey" Paradero, Ching Jasper and Marlon Madrazo all made their national debuts and played with true Filipino pride. They were supported by expats Romain Barbaris, Mark Ellis, Matt Cullen and team chief Chris Hartley.

The Philippines is proud of these guys. Rugby Union is truly alive and well here.
