I have been using a TRUE Sim card for a few years now. It is an older SIM card that does not support 3g, only EDGE/GPRS.

I would like to keep my original cell number, but use an AIS Sim card to use in my Android phone for occasional data and email.

Is this possible to do? And where to go in Pattaya to do it?

Thanks,

WS

Yes it can be done. It's called Mobile Number Portability (MNP).

First go to the True Office. Take your passport. Register the True number in your name EXACTLY AS IT IS ON YOUR PASSPORT! Wait a couple weeks for the number to be processed.

Then go to an AIS office with your passport. Tell them you want a SIM using MNP and that you have already register the number in your name with True. The will issue you an AIS SIM and tell you to use it when the SIM become active. Barring any problems it will become active in about 3 days with your True number.
