Hi,I want to soften the rear suspension of my 125cc D-TRACKER.

Can the original shock be adusted or do I have to buy a new one.

If so about how much would it cost.

Does anybody know,because I haven't a clue.

All help appreciated.

Please forgive my ignorance,

Who are YSS and what is a pre-load.

I'm 60kg with a bad back that feels the bumbs.

The bike has to go to the main dealers anyway,

to fix the feul injection.

Does it sound like i should ask them to soften the pre-load

before I invest in new shocks.

I presume the front shocks cannot be softened.

Thank you very much for you're help,

i live in rural thailand where the roads are bumpy

and there are no other farangs to ask

There aren't two D-Tracker 125's.

There is a D-tracker 125:

And a KLX 125:

Pre-load is the amount of compression of the the spring(s) on your rear shock and the springs in your front forks. On most motorcycles you can adjust the pre-load on the rear shock(s). On some motorcycles you can also adjust the pre-load on the front forks. Putting it simply, if you want a softer ride, you need to reduce the pre-load.

I beg to differ my freind,

I have the model in your picture.there is another d-tracker available,

It has KLX wheels and suspension and is about 10k cheaper.

It took me along time to realise that.

Maybe a KLX rear shock would fit.

Or does anybody have any ideas. It goes to the main dealers soon

All help thouroly appreciated.

There is one D-Tracker 125 and one KLX125 http://www.kawasaki..../motorcycle.asp

Take it to the Kawasaki dealer in Chiang Rai and tell them you want it adjusting, the girl there speaks pretty good English. You are only 60KG, the stock suspension should be fine even with a bad back.

lol I'm sure you will both be wrong soon as now the dtracker and klx 150 is out I presume soon there will be no dtracker or klx 125

The op may be talking about the klx 140 which of coarse is a klx and is cheaper than the dtracker or perhaps he is talking about the 150 dtracker which I believe is cheaper than the 125 who knows...........but whatever he is talking about he is wrong

A dtracker with klx wheels called a dtracker ....lol
