Change Google Language

Featured Replies

Installing my new computer: whenever I search in chrome or firefox google is in english.

I changed something on my old computer so it is in english...just I forgot what.....

Anyone knows?

I tried 10 things I found on internet already but nothing worked.

Do you mean "Google is in Thai"?

Go to google.co.th, and under the search box is a link to "Search in English" (or something like that).

Sent from my shoe phone

Yes but how can you set it so it always comes up in English. I find this annoying as well.

Mine always comes up in English. I just did a test, changing it to Thai, and then restarting the browser. It came up in Thai. (both Firefox and Chrome)

If that doesn't work for you, it might have something to do with cookies.

include /ncr (no country redirection)

for example, www.google.com/ncr

and it will appear always in English

Sorry ... confused because you started off with "whenever I search in chrome or firefox google is in english." and then say "it is always again in English".

So, from what I understand, it opens up in Thai, but you want it to open up in English.

If you go to google.co.th and click the "Google.co.th ที่อยู่ในภาษา: English" link, it should then show in English.

If it doesn't show in English next time you start the browser, then there it is probably related to cookies being blocked in your browser.

H90~ try this:

http://www.thaivisa....sh-only-please/

scroll down to Phil Conners post #4.

Works like a charm!

I tell you what...I am silly.......

I found that already and tried to put it in the second field (which of course had no effect).

Reason new google you can't change the 3 rd field.

Solution: you make a new one "New Google" and make it as default.....Every moron can figure that out...I couldn't....

So now I also know how to make DuckDuckGo my default search engine (I like it better than google).

I like to use the Omnibox (URL box) in Chrome to search, and to insure this always uses the Google.com you prefer you have to manipulate the Local State file (path below); it worked for me.

From amog's reply 6.19.11

Hi,

This is very annoying, but I found a way to fix it on Google's internal commit system:

"Path under windows: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\

File is Local State

1) Close Chrome.

2) Change the last_known_google_url and last_prompted_google_url to whichever TLD you prefer (google.com).

3) Start chrome again - make SURE you NEVER ever open google on sh*tty TLD such as .co.il!!! and it will work including autocomplete until proper patch is released.

Hope that helps others."

enjoy! It works!
